Roosevelt did not have one particular strategy to fix the economy. He, along with his cabinet and trusted advisors, known as the "Brain Trust," would simply try-out programs. The agencies and legislation that became part of the New Deal were later referred to as alphabet agencies. They employed millions, completed thousands of public work projects, and changed the way the American public thought about the federal government.
