Introduction
Central Question: What were the provisions for the peace treaty that ended World War I?
The goals of President Wilson's Fourteen Points were to preserve peace and prevent future wars. The Big Four (France, Britain, the United States, and Italy) attended the peace conference in Paris and eventually signed the Treaty of Versailles, which did not resemble Wilson's plan. Despite Wilson's nationwide campaign for the Treaty of Versailles, the treaty was defeated and the U.S. never joined the League of Nations.
