Assessment #1

During the Cold War, the United States combatted aggression using a variety of strategies. Examine these strategies and their effect on society by completing 9.01 Cold War Questions. Submit your completed work to 9.01 Cold War Questions Dropbox.

Assessment #2

The Cold War began with a series of events that started in the aftermath of World War II. For this task, highlight these events on a map timeline.

1) Login to SAS Curriculum Pathways Interactive Atlas with the username: access. You do not need a password. (If a Java window opens, select Run.)

2) Click Start.

3) Using the text and drawing tools on the left side of the map, insert the following events on the appropriate locations on the map. Include the date each event occurred and a brief description of each event. Some outside research may be needed to locate dates.

  • Bolshevik Revolution
  • Russian casualities during WWII/Delayed 2nd Front
  • Lack of Soviet help against Japan
  • Creation of German Occupation Zones
  • Expansion of Communism in Eastern Europe (choose one of the areas that was affected)
  • Policy of Containment (choose one of the areas that was affected by this policy)
  • Marshall Plan
  • Berlin Airlift

4) When your map timeline is complete, click Save, Print, Email in the top right corner.

5) Enter your Name and give your map a Title.

6) Click Create PDF.

7) Save the map and submit it to 9.01 Origins of the Cold War Dropbox.
