Task
Task #1
Go to the Quizzes area and complete the 3.07 Bill of Rights Exercise. Because this activity is an exercise, you may use your notes!
Task #2
The Bill of Rights was written more than 200 years ago when our country was, in many ways, a very different place. Over time, the Constitution has been amended and now includes a total of 27 amendments. But the original Bill of Rights has not changed.
Go the 3.07 Demand Your Rights Discussion and answer the question: If you could add one more amendment to the Bill of Rights, what would it be and why? Your initial post should:
- Identify the right or freedom your amendment would protect.
- Explain why you believe it is important for Americans to have that right or freedom.
- Use your knowledge and evidence from the lesson to support your answer.
- Be at least 4-5 sentences in length.
Next, read over your classmates' responses and respond to two of them.
- You can reply to a peer whose amendment you agree should be added to the Bill of Rights. Explain why you agree with their choice and list another reason why it should be included.
- You can also reply to a classmate who wants an amendment that you don't think should be added to the Bill of Rights. Respectfully offer a counterargument to their post, explaining why you disagree.
When participating in an online discussion, you should use formal, standard English and obey all conventions of punctuation and spelling. Avoid abbreviations or symbols used in texting, messaging, or informal conversation.
You will be graded according to the 3.07 Demand Your Rights Discussion Scoring Guide.
