Introduction
How often have your heard things like "You have your mom’s eyes", "You have your dad’s sense of humor", or "You look just like one or the other parent"?
Sound familiar? This was the introduction in a previous lesson where we looked at the influence of heredity on development. This unit will address both nature and nurture or heredity and environmental factors over the course of the lifespan. You will look at the physical, cognitive and social developments that occur within each stage of development.
Following successful completion of this lesson, students will be able to:
- Describe the physical, social an cognitive development across the life span of a person from the prenatal through aging stages.
The above objectives correspond with the Alabama Course of Study: Psychology: Objective: 6.
