Introduction

In the previous two lessons you identified and graphed equations of degree two. This section will deal with polynomial functions of degrees higher than two. Graphs of polynomial functions greater than two do not follow such an easy to determine pattern as the graphs of degree two or less.

At the end of this lesson, student will be able to:

  • Use the Leading Coefficient Test to determine the end behavior of graphs of polynomial functions
  • Find and use the zeros of polynomial functions to sketch their graphs
  • Use the Intermediate Value Theorem to locate zeros of polynomial functions
