Following successful completion of this lesson, students will be able to:

  • Relating physical properties of sound and light to wave characteristics

This lesson correlates to ACOS Xdefinition and ACOS ydefinition

Introduction

The picture depicts a wave formed when a slinky is stretched and shaken at one end. The wave travels along the slinky until it reaches the other end and then it reverses and bounces back. From the picture, we could measure the height of the wave and the length of the wave, two very important properties of wave forms.
