Introduction

What comes to mind when you hear the word waves? Maybe you think of

  • the waves rolling onto the sand from the ocean?
  • the waves that ripple outward from a rock or pebble thrown into a pond?
  • radio waves that let you listen to music in your car?
  • x-rays used to see broken bones?

These are just a few examples of the types of waves we encounter in our everyday lives. This lesson will introduce you to the basics of waves.
