  1. Balance: an instrument for determining weight.
    balance

  2. Beaker: used to hold liquids.
    beaker
  3. Bunsen burner: used to heat substances

4. Burette: used to dispense and transfer known volumes of liquids

5. Clay triangle: used to hold a crucible while its being heated. It is also called a 'pipe clay triangle.'

6. Crucible: used to hold small amounts of chemicals during heating at high temperatures. Sometimes it will have a lid.

7. Crucible tongs: used to hold hot crucibles

8. Dropper pipette or disposable pipette: used to draw up liquid and expelling it in drops. Sometimes it is spelled 'pipet.'

9. Erlenmeyer flask: used to hold liquids. It has a narrow neck to prevent splashes.

10. Evaporating dish: used to hold liquids that will be heated over a flame to evaporate and leave behind a solid residue

11. Filter paper: special paper used to separate solids from liquids

12. Forceps: used to pick up or hold small items

13. Fume hood: used to prevent a person from inhaling potentially hazardous fumes from chemicals

14. Funnel: used for pouring liquid into a container with a small opening without splashing or spilling

15. Goggles: used to protect eyes from chemical splashes, open flame, and other hazards

16. Graduated cylinder: used to accurately measure liquid volumes

17. Hot plate / stir plate: used to heat and stir substances

18. Mortar and pestle: used to grind up substances

19. Pipette bulb: balloon-like end on a pipette used to draw liquid into the pipette

20. Ring clamp: used with a ring stand to hold a glass container

21. Ring stand: used to hold containers and wire gauze above the table, generally over a Bunsen burner flame

22. Rubber stopper: used to cover the ends of test tubes and flasks

23. Spatula: a small, flat scoop used to transfer powder and crystal chemicals

24. Spot plate:a flat plate with multiple "wells" used as small test tubes

25. Stirring rod: used for stirring. They are generally made of glass.

26. Striker: used to light bunsen burners

27. Test tube: open tube used to hold liquids

28. Test tube clamp: clamp used to hold hot test tubes

29. Test tube rack: used to hold multiple test tubes in a row

30. Thermometer: used to measure temperature, generally in degrees Celsius

31. Utility clamp: used to hold laboratory glassware

32. Volumetric flask: used for making solutions to a known volume

33. Volumetric pipette: used for measuring small amounts of liquid accurately

34. Wash bottle: used to rinse various pieces of laboratory glassware

35. Watch glass: used to hold solids while being weighed or as a cover for a beaker

36. Weighing paper: used for weighing and transferring powders and crystals

37. Wire gauze: used to support a beaker or flask during heating
