Introduction
Always remember that the yearbook is designed to help people remember what school was like, even fifty years on down the road! Lots of student journalists are tempted not to “waste” valuable page real estate with copy, claiming that nobody takes the time to read it. That may be true at your school’s yearbook autographing party, but once the excitement settles, you can count on the yearbook being perused cover to cover. Copy is the articles, explanations, or bits of printed information that go in the yearbook. Of course there are also headlines and captions for the photographs, but copy tells the story of your school verbally and complements the graphic elements on the spread.
