Yearbook Staff Duties
The members of your school's yearbook staff can have multiple responsibilities. Some of the duties are:
- Photographer
- Copy: Writer:Writes articles, captions, headlines, etc.
- Salesperson:
- Sells the yearbook to students as well as to the community beyond the school.
- Sells advertisements to businesses and individuals.
- Organizer:
- Files digital and hardcopy photos/work for easy access.
- Determines how the available space in the yearbook will be used.
- Layout Designer: Uses desktop publishing technology to create a page of the yearbook.
- Promoter:
- Works to raise student interest in the yearbook.
- Works to increase community support of the yearbook.
- Spell-Checker:
- Ensures that names, particularly, are spelled correctly throughout the book.
- Proofreads all copy.
- Style Editor: Keeps graphic themes and visual elements standard throughout each section of the yearbook.
- Liaison with the Publisher:
- Represents the staff. Keeps the publisher informed of changes or problems.
- Works with the publisher to meet quality or publication standards.
- Accountant:
- Keeps track of yearbook sales
- Keeps track of advertising sales Invoices advertisers.
- Fundraiser:
- Helps raise extra money for the production of the yearbook.
- Plans events/opportunities
