Have you ever felt what someone heard was not what you said?

Communication is essential to all relationships: at home, school, and work. Effective communication involves

  1. a sender who
  2. conveys an accurate message to
  3. a receiver who correctly interprets the message.

All three components have to work well for accurate communication to occur.

In this lesson, you will learn strategies to help you communicate effectively with family members, co-workers, and friends. You will also learn strategies to recognize, avoid, and respond to relationships and situations that could be unsafe.
