Introduction
German grammar is just one example of how unique the language is. In this lesson you will explore the unique sounds in the German language and practice the German alphabet.

Did you notice the different sounds? Did you hear how the "w" and the "v" were pronounced? In German, the "w" sounds like the English "v" and the German "v" sounds like the English "f"! The famous German car Volkswagen is actually pronounced "Folksvahgen!"
It is also important to note that writing in German requires the use of special symbols that are not used in English. These are called umlauts and esstset in German. You will need to make these special symbols when you turn in written assignments to your teacher. Learn how to make special characters in German.
