Introduction

Read about each set of siblings. The first paragraph is about brothers and the second is about sisters. Try to understand what the words in bold mean:

Hier sind zwei Geschwister. Dieter ist links von Kurt. Dieter hat Geburtstag am zehnten Juli. Er ist elf Jahre alt. Er ist älter als Kurt. Er ist der ältere Bruder. Kurt hat Geburtstag am vierzehnten Januar. Er ist sieben Jahre alt. Er ist jünger als Dieter. Er ist der jüngere Bruder.

Hier sind auch zwei Geschwister. Die Schwester heißt Liese. Liese ist neun Jahre alt. Sie hat Geburtstag am fünfzehnten April. Sie ist älter als das Baby. Sie ist das ältere Kind. Das Baby heißt Hanna. Hanna hat Geburtstag am ersten Dezember. Sie ist neun Monate alt. Sie ist jünger als Liese. Sie ist die jüngere Schwester.
