Introduction

What supplies do you have in your backpack? Do you have a black pen or a blue pen? Do you have a binder? What color is it? In this lesson you will learn to identify and describe the school supplies you use on a regular basis. In order to talk about the items you have, you will need to learn the irregular verb avoir.

Lesson Objectives

Following successful completion of this lesson, students will be able to:

  • recognize and pronounce basic school supplies
  • recognize and pronounce basic colors
  • conjugate the verb avoir
  • identify adjectives that are placed before the noun
  • identify the famous monument located at the end of Les Champs-Élysées
  • name the person who commissioned the monument at the end of Les Champs-Élysées
