Introduction

Do you remember these words - cinq, dix, quinze, vingt? They are French numbers. You have already learned to count from 0-39, and in this lesson, you will learn to count to 100. When considering numbers, what is the difference between the following groups of numbers - one and first, two and second, three and third? The first number in each group (one, two, three) is a cardinal number, and cardinal numbers are used when counting items. The second number in each group (first, second, third) is an ordinal number, and ordinal numbers are used when placing items in order. In this lesson, you will learn to form ordinal numbers in French.
