Introduction

Bienvenue à la classe de français! When speaking French, one of the first things you will notice is the importance of greeting other people. In the United States, people often greet one another with a simple smile or a nod of the head. In France, however, it is very important to greet others with a verbal salutation, along with the person's name or their title, and a physical greeting called la bise or se serrer la main.
