Lesson 6.06: Pepys and his Diary

Samuel Pepys’s diary is so fascinating because readers can see a picture of life in London on a particular day.  The officials of the time even used Pepys’s diary to recount some of the things that happened.

Write a diary entry of the day before.  Using your senses, describe what you ate, the clothes you wore, the activities you did, etc. Post your diary entry to the 6.06 Senses Discussion.  Read through your peers submissions to see if any of you have commonalities.

Once several people have submitted entries in the 6.06 Senses Discussion Board, choose one to read and switch roles.  You will now become a teenager living in the 17th century.  Change the wording to reflect what this teenager would have done in Pepys’s time period.  Refer back to his diary for assistance on language if needed.
