Do you know this man?

Most people around the world have heard of William Shakespeare, whether they have read any of his works or not. Modern critics have referred to him as the "genius of the English race," and most regard him as the greatest of all playwrights.

Open 10.01 Shakespeare Chart and complete the chart on what you already know about William Shakespeare and what you would like to know about Shakespeare. Once you have completed the chart, post it as an attachment to 10.01 Shakespeare Chart Discussion. Then, look at your classmates' charts and find at least two that mention facts about Shakespeare you did not already know. Reply to the posts letting them know that they taught you something new.

 

Following successful completion of this lesson, students will be able to: Distinguish distinctive features of the theater experience during Shakespeare’s time, including the structural features of the Globe Theater, the actors, and the audience. Create a resume for Shakespeare based on his actual achievements, education, and employment.
