Once upon a time, there was a very sweet cheerleader named (1)"Susan." Susan was the lead cheerleader and all the others looked up to her. There was not a time when Susan wasn't working to make her cheer squad better. However, when she was alone at home, she (2)"often doubted her ability" to lead others. She (3)"hid this self-doubt from her cheer squad" because she felt that it made her appear weak. Cindy had been friends with Susan for a number of years, and was aware of Susan's insecurity.
(4)"Cindy" was also envious of Susan's success as a leader. Waiting for the right time to expose Susan, Cindy chose the state competition. When the time came, Cindy told the other girls that Susan was not the leader that she acted like and that she had lied to them about the confidence she had. (5)"Susan fell apart in front of her squad, bringing their confidence down," and cost them their chance at the state championship.
