Tasks
Both Elie Wiesel and Vladek Spiegelman are survivors of the Holocaust. After having read Wiesel’s speech, “Hope, Despair, and Memory," and an excerpt about Vladek in Maus I, readers discover a striking difference in the mood, attitude, of these two survivors. In two to three paragraphs discuss their attitudes, comparing and contrasting them. Use textual evidence to support your points.
