Summary and Tasks
Today, you are to use your vivid imagination and create a myth that has a Hawaiian flare. Your myth should include characters that range from humans to gods and have these characters in conflict with each other. You may use elements from the unique landforms of the Hawaiian Islands such as the volcanoes, the ocean, the islands and the many plants and animals that inhabit this land.
First, create a story outline that includes a character list and description, a description of the setting, a summary of the main conflict, the events of rising action and the climax of the story. Your myth may end with a resolution that explains some phenomenon in nature or offers warning to the citizens of the islands. Look back at the examples for assistance.
You can type your outline as a word document or create a graphic organizer that includes text boxes to show these story components.
Submit your legend outline to the 6.02 Hawaiian Myth Outline Dropbox to receive feedback from your teacher.
Then, using the feedback, create your myth and submit it to the 6.02 Hawaiian Myth Dropbox. The finished myth should be at least 250 words in length.
