Task #1
Which productivity software do you use?
When you group the following software together, they are called productivity software:
- word processing software
- presentation software
- spreadsheet software
- database software
Which software do you use? Is it Microsoft Office? Google Docs?
For this task, you will identify the productivity software you are using in this class.
- Open the word processing software on your computer.
- Type the following information on a blank page:
- Your name
- Your school
- The date
- Your facilitator's name
- Skip down a few lines and type the name of the productivity software you are using. If the word processing software is Microsoft Word, then you are using Microsoft Office.
- Skip down a few lines and copy and paste the following information, then take the information and change the formatting as the instructions say.

Task #2
For this task, you will type a short MLA report. Review the steps and image below to help you properly format your assignment.

- Type one paragraph about healthy eating. It must be at least five sentences in length.
- Be sure to include a page-number header (your last name and page number - for example, Smith 1) in the upper right-hand corner.
- Be sure to include the four-line essay heading at top, left corner:
- Your Full Name (ex. John Smith)
- Your Teacher's Name (ex. Ms. Moody)
- Class Name (ex. Career Prep)
- Date (use day, month, year format - for example, 19 January 2022)
- Provide an appropriate title for your report (ex. Healthy Eating). Center the title.
- At the end of your paragraph at the bottom of the page, insert the following as a footer (if needed, refer to the links in the How to Use It Tab in the lesson):
- For more information, write to the President's Council on Health and Nutrition, Room 738-H Humphrey Building, 200 Independence Avenue, SW, Washington, DC 20201-0004.

Open the 1.01 Sample Report you wrote for the previous task.
Find websites that are related to your report and insert two hyperlinks into your report.

Scoring GuideSpecial Note:
A later unit (Unit 7) is heavily based on ACPS (Alabama Career Planning System), which is available to most Alabama High Schools.
- If you do not yet have a login, please speak with your school counselor. You will need it to complete Unit 7.
- If you do not have access to ACPS, please inform your Career Preparedness instructor what career planning system your school uses. If you do not know, ask your facilitator and/or school counselor to assist you.
- If you are a virtual student, contact the school through which you are registered to receive login credentials.
Do not wait until Unit 7 to secure your login information. You should have it before you complete this unit.
