Task
Task #1
You will create a five-slide presentation using the presentation software of your choice.
- The subject of your presentation will be a review of a book, TV show, movie, or a video game. Choose one of your favorites.
- You may use a preformatted layout or design your own. The layout should be appealing visually. Consider font choice, including color and size, readability and graphic placement.
- Choose one transition and apply the same one throughout all the slides.
- Slide one will be a title slide with each line centered.
It should contain: the title of what you are reviewing; the author, star, or game platform; and your name (this should say Reviewed by)
- Slides 2, 3, and 4 should be information about the subject.
- Include a bullet listing of main characters.
- Include a picture, graphic, or screenshot.
- Note: If you don’t remember how to insert an image to your PowerPoint, you can watch Adding Images in PowerPoint.
- Include a brief summary of the plot.
- Include a comparison of another book, show, movie, or game.
- Make a comparison statement. Example: "If you like (blank)____, then you will like ___ (blank) because (blank) ___."
- Slide 5 should include the sources you used to support your information.
- Refer back to the Copyright Issues tab if you have a question on how to correctly cite your sources.
- Be sure your presentation is free of spelling and grammar errors.
When you have completed your presentation and are satisfied with its quality, save a copy for use in the next Task, then submit another copy to the 3.03 Presentation Dropbox.
Be sure you consult the scoring guide.
Task #2
Using the copy of 3.03 Presentation (Task 1) you saved, add four (4) of the following effects. You choose which of the four you want to include.
Refer back to the video tutorials if you need help on how to include the following in your presentation.
- Apply an animation effect on the bulleted list so that each bulleted line will show separately by clicking, or in a timed sequence.
- Apply an animation effect to a graphic (picture, symbol, object, or other graphic).
- Insert animated graphics – The clip art library in your software usually has many choices.
- Insert an appropriate sound effect on one of the slides. Do not loop the sound. An example would be including applause at the end of the slideshow. If sample sound files are not included in your software, or none in the library will work for your slide, then download one from the many sound file sources online. Make sure to include the reference for any online source.
- Insert an appropriate music clip to play on just one of the slides or throughout the presentation. There are many fair use or public domain music clips that would be appropriate. Your software should include samples. Since your slide show is only 5 slides, just a few seconds of music would be acceptable. There are online sources that provide music clips that are fair use under copyright laws. Be sure to include the reference links of online sources.
- Insert an appropriate video clip on one of the slides. If you choose, you can insert another slide for it. The slide that shows the online references would also be a good place to insert the video clip. Rules for video use are the same as music.
When you have finished, submit your new presentation to the 3.03 Multimedia Dropbox.
Be sure you consult the scoring guide.
