Task

Task #1

To complete the 2.04 Works Cited task, you need to create the last page of a research paper, the Works Cited page. Open a blank document in the word processing software you have access to (Microsoft Word, Google Docs, etc.) and create a mock Works Cited page using the information and resources below.

Submit your completed work to the 2.04 Works Cited Dropbox.

Page Formatting

Follow the MLA Works Cited Page: Basic Format guidelines from Purdue OWL to correctly format your Works Cited page. Remember to include:

  • 1" margins
  • Page header with your last name and page number
  • Hanging indents
  • Double spacing
  • Citations listed in alphabetical order

You may need to find a tutorial for creating headers, hanging indents, and double-spacing. The specific steps for these procedures will vary depending upon the type and version of word processing software you are using (Microsoft Word 2016, Google Docs, etc.).

To find relevant instructions, you can go to Google or the search engine of your choice and search for a tutorial for your particular software.

  • For instance, if you are using Word 2016, searching "hanging indents in Word 2016" will provide a link with step-by-step assistance for completing this task.
  • Or, you can search on the support pages of the program you're using. Here are help desks of some common word processing software:
