Introduction

One way to think about the immune system is to compare it to the military. The military, just like the immune system, functions to defend and protect. Your leukocytes are the individuals in your body’s military that are defending and protecting. There are different types of leukocytes in your body, each possessing a special skill and duty to accomplish this goal. 

Let’s now take a closer look at how these individual cells and the associated organs are making this happen.
