The first algebraic method you will learn for solving a system of equations is called the substitution method. In this method, one of the given equations is substituted into the other given equation in order to solve for one of the variables.

Before digging into the lesson, begin by watching Using the Substitution Method to Solve Systems of Linear Equations. Watch at least the first 6 minutes.
