Download and complete 4.01 Accounting Worksheet.

  1. Set up the heading, account numbers, account names and beginning balances in a 10-column worksheet. You will only see 6-columns. The the adjustments and adjusted trial balance columns will be covered later.
  2. The worksheet is partially set up with merged cells in first three rows for the heading section.
  3. Use the first two columns for the account section, then the columns to the left for the remaining three sections of the worksheet.
  4. Refer back to the example given in the Learn if you need help in setting up the sections.

Trial Balance

This section lists the account balances of all of the accounts. Be sure to place the balances on the correct side—if the account should have a normal debit balance, type the account balance beside its name in the debit column within the Trial Balance section. If the account should have a normal credit balance, type the account balance beside its name in the credit column within the Trial Balance section. Make sure that total debit account balances = total credit account balances.
