Please submit your lesson using the ACCESS LO+T Form. The form contains these sections. As you write your lesson, remember that the target audience is students, not other teachers.
Introduction
Introduce students to content by engaging them by linking to previous knowledge, their experiences, a real-life situation, or inquiry. This section should include the related course of study standard number and a measurable objective written for students.
Learn
This section of the lesson provides most of the content delivery to students. It can include (but is not limited to) the following:
- written content
- original presentations (submitted as separate PowerPoint / presentation / video files, if needed)
- links to reliable, stable outside resources (no YouTube or Wikipedia)
- example problems
- graphics
Please note that the essential content for a course should be part of the course. In other words, we should not rely on externeal websites for the critical content delivery.
Try It
This element includes formative assessment with immediate feedback for student self-evaluation. It can include
- review games.
- questions with sample answers.
- practice problems with solutions.
- links to web resources.
Please keep in mind that this practice should not be submitted for a grade and should include an element of feedback immediately available for the student. Reading comprehension and recall questions are a good option for this activity. Remedial content materials can also be made available here. Use Try It Template MC or Try It Template FIB if needed.
Task
The final piece of the lesson should include a brief summary of concepts, including linking the concepts to future materials and/or impacts in real life situations or the students’ lives. It should also include an assignment submitted to the teacher that will prove the student has mastered the objective. Tasks can include (but are not limited to)
- open-ended questions.
- objective questions.
- informal writing.
- creative projects.
You should feel free to incorporate current course content into the LO+T form. However, to give us the best picture of your as a subject matter expert, make sure to incorporate your own original content as well.
Feel free to distribute this information to anyone who may be interested.
