Email can be used for private communications with your instructor, such as questions about grades or requests for extra help on a lesson or assignment.

Following successful completion of this module, students will be able to: Send email using proper netiquette. Determine appropriate and inappropriate email netiquette.

Points to Remember:

• Teachers can and will monitor emails.
• Email messages should be written in a more formal manner than instant messaging but not as rigid as a business letter.
• Do not capitalize all letters when writing as this means you are shouting!
• You may not use your Desire2Learn email account for sending or receiving personal emails that are not related to your school work. Be aware that teachers and administrators have complete access to your emails. Nothing in your Desire2Learn email account is private. Everything you do can be seen. Any inappropriate use of email will result in administrative action.
